AhlulBayt News Agency: President Masoud Pezeshkian has highlighted the strong relations between Iran and Tajikistan, stating that the foundation is well-prepared for further expanding cooperation in trade, economy, science, politics, and security.
Speaking in Tehran on Sunday during a meeting with Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Pezeshkian expressed optimism about deepening ties between the two nations. Muhriddin is in Iran to attend the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025, a two-day event bringing together senior officials and diplomats from 53 countries alongside representatives from the United Nations.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran and Tajikistan can facilitate greater collaboration among businessmen, industrialists, and academics to ensure shared prosperity. He also reiterated Iran’s willingness to work closely with Tajikistan in various sectors.
During the meeting, Muhriddin conveyed warm greetings from Tajikistan’s president to Pezeshkian. He also praised Pezeshkian’s speech at the Tehran Dialogue Forum, commending his call for fostering interaction and friendship while avoiding disputes—an approach he described as essential in today’s world.
Muhriddin noted the already strong cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan in trade, politics, and tourism, expressing his country’s eagerness to enhance partnerships within regional and international organizations. He further highlighted that the recent removal of visa requirements between the two countries creates an excellent opportunity for strengthening tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
